Copy and Paste issues in Access

I've always been able to right-click on a query or report and choose copy, then right click and choose paste. Paste is greyed out/disabled. I don't have any idea why. I tried compact/repair and a reboot - that didn't make a difference. Can someone help me, please?
As an addendum, I also can not drag objects between two databases. I could in the past.
