Select, Copy & Paste Record

We've upgraded from Access 2003 to the current version. I cannot find how to select, copy, and paste a record like I used to?

In 2003, I open my form

From the Edit menu, select record

Copy

Go to last record / new

Paste

Then I can make the slight edits needed without having to re-enter many fields of data.

It would be great if anyone could show me where these "old/2003" choices can be found.

Thanks=

JT

In a well designed database the ability to copy a record should not be needed.

Creating a command button for this is just a matter of following the wizard. If you open the form in Design mode, you can use the Command Button wizard from the Design ribbon. You want to select a Record Operation and then Duplicate Record. This will do what you need in one operation.

I don't know how to create a command button and my users aren't familiar with tables.

They only know and use forms.

Isn't it crazy that this simple feature just disappeared?!

    I have both 2010 and Office365.

It will only paste the value of the field that the cursor was in when you choose select.

The Copy And Record Functions are on the Home ribbon. However, I just tested this and it didn't allow me to copy a record. I have actually never done this from a form before.

You can use the Command button wizard to create a button that will duplicate a record.

You can also do what you want from a table.

    What is your 'current version?'

What happens when you try to paste?
