I would like to have two or more text boxes populate with the same text, at the same time, as I type in another text box.

How can this be done within PowerPoint?

Based on your answers, I don't think there is really a great way to do this in PowerPoint. As far as I know, there isn't a way to link two text boxes so they always have the same content unless they are on a master slide. You might look into that, but that doesn't seem to really be what you want either. There are options with macros, but they are probably much too complicated for your problem.

If this is going at the top and bottom of every slide, then it seems like the tools for master slides are the perfect solution. I had envisioned a piece of customized text that you were typing into a text box and then wanted it to repeat in a few other slides. That would likely be a macro, but now what you are describing seems to be the perfect job for a master slide.

Correct the master slide we use currently for repeating text for many slides in a row, but like you said without a macro it may be near impossible.

Perhaps a simple macro exists with easy implementation for a novice like myself. The task i need to accomplish is if we have the handout master and we want the unique slide number at the top and bottom of each slide along with the version and creators initials I would love to be able to type it in once at the top and have it mimic automatically at the bottom without having to retype or copy and paste. Much like a graphic symbol works in Flash or Illustrator.

It is something I wish to use while creating a slide for both normal and slideshow. I am not sure what a control box is, but I do know I would like to use it for regular text boxes.

Is this something you are doing in Normal view or Slide Show view? Are you using regular text boxes or control text boxes?
