IDFIX Error - topleveldomain

We have been using Office 365 and Exchange Online for a number of months - works well. We migrated our Exchange users off our old SPS2003 server to Exchange Online and retired the SBS. At the same time we migrated to a Windows Server 2012 with the SBS AD migrated to the Win2012 box - our domain controller.

I now want to begin using Azure with Office 365. In preparation I run the Idfix tool and all our users show up with topleveldomain errors - they are listed as: *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (and they should be *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I know the .local comes from when the SBS was installed years ago and here is my question:

Since our Exchange server is not hosted internally can I simply edit all the entries using Idfix so that they say .com instead of .local? (I suspect so since I've already done a few as a test and so far no problems.) Thanks.

Hi Greg,

From your description, it seems that you have already added the .com domain in your Exchange server. If this is the case, you can just simply edit all the entries using Idfix so that they say .com instead of .local.

Thanks,

Richard
