Is documentation available on how  an Access report (with group headers, footers, a detail section and sub-reports) is exported to Excel? e.g. Is group footer data exported?

Thank you for the reply. My question is not so much about the data source, but which sections of a report are exported. e.g. I have a report  that was exported to Excel - the header sections are the only sections exported - the detail section and footer sections are not exported.

I thought that there might be some documentation as to the "rules" that were applied to exported sections of a report. I haven't been able to find anything in Access manuals or the internet thus far.

Hi. Unfortunately, when you export a report to Excel, what Access exports is the data rather than the formatting. For example, if the report is bound to a table, then Excel will get the data from the table. If the report is bound to a query with sorting and filtering applied, then Excel will get those instead. Hope that helps...
