Excel 2016 - issue during copy paste in Tables

Hi,

I have opened a spreadsheet created in 2007 version in Excel 2016. This sheet contains a large table. I want to cut-paste or copy paste data from 3 cells on a row into another 3 cells to the left in same row.

When I copy-paste this, it results in empty paste to destination cells.

When I paste to the cells just above these origin cells, it works ok.  However if I skip a row and paste it results in empty paste.

When I do cut-paste, not only do I not have any data pasted to destination cells after a small wait, but the destination cells are left with blue color in cells, Undo does not remove it and requires to reopen the spreadsheet.

I mailed the sheet to a colleague and he too had the same issue, so it is not linked to my PC.

Thanks in advance.

TW.

    Hi Sagnik,

I copied the table to blank workbook and tried - the issue does not exist anymore. As I mentioned, this is a big file with several graphs, pivots, formulas etc based on the table.  To recreate it as a new file will be huge work.

However, this does clearly establishes that there is a bug in opening 2007 file in 2016, especially if there is table data.

Hope Microsoft will release a fix soon.

    Thanks for your advice.

    Regards

    TW
