In excel i am able to rotate text in 3d, but there is no option in Publisher, is there a reason for this? The only option i have is to rotate the shape  but the text stays flat. i'm trying to give my text a perspective effect but since the option is missing i can only do it in Excel. Thanks for your help

Unfortunately that Excel feature is not shared with Publisher. In Publisher you can use 3-D effects on shapes or WordArt. You are more likely to get what you are looking for by inserting WordArt and then manipulating it with the 3-D effects.

Please give step-by-step directions on how to use WordArt to angle text like Eric 2728 is trying to do in the example above.

3-D text rotation in Publisher would be make a lot of sense for a basic graphic design program. (Why Excel???)  The "Edit Wrap Points" feature is also enabled but doesn't appear to work.

Would be better to have the right features in the right products for the right applications.  Publisher should also include "Sway-like" infographic templates that can be further customized.  More data visualization tools between Publisher and Excel would be especially helpful for creating and printing infographics.

I have no idea of what Eric was trying to do, or what you want to accomplish so you need to figure it out yourself. Trial and Terror is a good learning method but you might also want to read this reference first.

BTW Publisher is not a graphic design program. It is a DTP...a desktop publisher. If you want an image editor then there are lots of free image editors out there.
