MS Access/Adobe - Unbound Object Frame tool

Hello all -

When I am creating a report in Microsoft Access and I attempt to import an existing PDF into the report using the Unbound Object Frame tool, it gives me the error below. I don't get this error if I attempt to import a word document, image, or other format.

We have tried to resolve this issue by applying the Adobe font security patch, uninstalled duplicate updates from the programs menu, and restarted several times. We have tried on Office 2010 and tried to repair Office 2013 with no luck. Tried a new file and gave the same error.

"A problem occurred while Microsoft Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX Control.

Close the OLE server and restart it outside of Microsoft Access. Then try the original operation again in Microsoft Access"

We are importing this off his desktop and it is a blank PDF. Not fillable, etc...

Not sure what to do here. Thanks for any help!

You will have to use the 32-bit version of Office, just like 99% of the users.

We are using a fully patched version. Tried on both 2010 and 2013 and a new 2013 install. Running 64 bit. Not sure the problem.

Then try on a couple more computers. I am showing you it is possible, and I'm not using any tricks. I don't have Acrobat Pro installed, just Reader. Using A2010 (32-bit, of course) with all patches.

We already did try with multiple PDFs and that was not a solution for us. :-/

You may want to try with a different PDF. It worked for me.
