Office 2016 Preview version???

After going to the My Account screen from Outlook 2013 and noticing the upgrade to 2016 button. It would appear that I have been upgraded to a preview version - 16.0.4229.1024. Is this correct?? Nothing on the My account window indicated it was a preview version. When I run the office update it tells me I am running the latest version, but I have seen posted online a newer version than what I have. Has anyone else noticed this and is it just temporary while 2016 is pushed out to everyone?? I'm noticing some minor issues in my install so just wondering if this is common.

Thanks for any info you all might have.

    Hi,

It was installed through my Office 365 subscription. I had clicked on the My Account button and when it took me to the My Account website I noticed the Office 2016 is available button and clicked that to install. I can tell you that the install seemed to hang. The first time it attempted to install it seemed to hang around 50-60 percent (when it said it had to close other apps that were running). I ended up having to reboot the laptop and re-start the install. Everything went smooth the second time - it was able to close all the other apps with no difficulties but did become hung at 90 percent. I left it running overnight and it was still sitting at 90 percent the next morning. However, despite that everything appears to be fully installed. Each of the programs opens with no errors (although I haven't done work in the programs other than Outlook). So far in Outlook, if I pin it to the taskbar, it creates a second icon when I start the program. This happens if I pin it from the Apps menu, or if I start the program and then pin it from the active icon. I didn't install it when it was a Preview, just when I saw that it was released to the public. Let me know if you need any other info.

    Hi Chris,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for posting your query.

A quick question before we proceed.

How did you install Office 2016? Is it from the Office 365 subscription or Office 2016 trial when it was in Preview?

The latest version of Office 2016 is 16.0.4229.1024 which is already installed on your computer.

Kindly open any Office application > go to File > Account > check in the right section, if it states 'Product activated'.

Reply with necessary information and I’ll be happy to help you further.

    Thank you.
