Change Citation Format

Hi

I'm trying to change the citation and bibliography format from the English APA style to a correct Hebrew one.

The only thing i need to fix is when using an article with two authors it uses the & sign between the authors, and I need to modify the " & " sign into a different hebrew letter " x" (including the spacing, x represents the letter).

Using the Local Id 1037 won't do the trick (CITATION \l 1037 and BIBLIOGRAPHY \l 1037).

Any ideas on how to modify the sign?

All the sources were written as Hebrew under the Manage References language.

To modify the citation referencing via the field codes, you will probably need to copy whatever is between the field braces (I.e. { }) then delete the citation, then re-create the field via Ctrl-F9, insert the copied content then edit the locale switch. Do the same for the Bibliography.

However, the easiest way to do this is to go to Manage Sources>Select the author>Edit>then choose Hebrew from the language dropdown (assuming you have Office configured for this).

It's really weird that Word doesn't use a character other than "&" for Hebrew (In Arabic, Word replaces it with the letter waw which stands for "and").

Until someone finds a direct solution, try this workaround:

    • Click the citation, then click on the ▼
    • Select Convert citation to static text
    • Do this to all your other citations (I don't know if there's a way to do it automatically, but you can click the next field and just press F4 which repeats the last command).
    • With CTRL+H, replace "&" with the character that you want.
