PowerPoint 2013 adding a separate audio track - echoed on playback

I was recording a slideshow in PowerPoint 2013, and it kept re-adding the audio as a separate track - an echo of the audio from the embedded videos. (I removed them from each slide under the animation pane.) Where is the setting so it doesn't do this?

Lindsey, the "Record Slide Show" option will record sound from your microphone. If you don't want that to happen, then follow these steps:

  1. Save your PowerPoint presentation. Then access the Slide Show tab of the Ribbon.
  2. Then click the Record Slide Show button. You will see a Record Slide Show dialog box, as shown in the Figure below.

3. Deselect the option that says Narrations and laser pointer, and then click the Start Recording button.

    It sounds like perhaps your narration mike was live while you were playing back the video and it may have picked up the video soundtrack. If this is the case, listen to the video through headphones when you're recording a narration.
