Hi Guys

I have a folder that just will not sync tried all the suggestion copy delete move etc etc

Error i get for 1 folder only

It looks like this isn't a valid OneNote section file. It could be a different file type that's been renamed with a .one extension. (Error code: 0xE00000CE)

Any ideas please

Hello,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for posting your query.

Let us try creating new Notebook, copy the some section of the not syncing notebook to new notebook, move it to OneDrive and check if they sync. If the notebook doesn’t sync as expected, try copying the data from the section to new section and then try to sync.

For more information on best practice to sync notebook, please refer the below mentioned article.

Please post back with the updated issue details for further assistance.

Thank you.

I have already had to create a new folder, and the issue is happening again. The sync error icon only shows on my laptop. When I use my mobile app, it looks like it is working but it isn't.

Why does this keep happening on my shared folder? I have never had issues with my private folder. What is invalidating the section file? The only edits have been within the notes themselves, there was no renaming of files. Am I going to have to create a new folder every few months?

Do you have any password protected sections?  I had this error message, along with a reported 1 notebook sync error.  After I removed password protection the sync went fine without the error message.

I then re-added the password and syncing ran fine.

    Hope this helps
