Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hi Wynna,
A. The Product key
- Despite the wording used on packaging, one must include the Dashes (-) that are between each set of 5 characters.
- Make sure there are No Spaces at all when you type in the key.
- I learned that one does Not need to use "Capitals" within the Key, even though "they" use "Capitals."
- It takes a very long time for the program to download fully. So long in fact that a notification comes up saying that "...you have timed out."
- So, watch the screen, and every 5 min. or so, "move" the Download screen around and read what is underneath.
{At this moment I do not recall if there was a "minimize" sign on the Download Window.}
However, keep watch to see if there is a notification of some sort, telling you that you are about to Time Out .
- If "it" gives you a choice to Stay on the site, take it. (I walked away, so it asked me to Refresh the screen. The download had stopped. It took some tech guy to get it to continue.
- Understand that if you got the download to start, the computer will say, "This Product Key has already been used."
if you try to start over.
- You will need a tech. to make it "continue", unless you can do it yourself.
- Here is the Big Kicker, although the Marketing Department, and the Online download, and your computer, all
refer to the product as Office 365, you Will Not find it listed as such on your programs!
- The title of the program is: Office 2016.
To "find" the program on your computer, look for Office 2016. (The year the Stable release occurred. [As
opposed to the initial release.])
I hope this helps in some way. I was not exactly sure of your question.
Best Regards, Tracy
