Spellcheck uses wrong language

I´m trying to use Word for Android as a word processor in Swedish texts.

The problem is that the program switches to English and autocorrects i to I  for example. It doesn´t matter that I select the text and choose Swedish or tics the box that turns off spellcheck, the program still checks grammar in English and "corrects me".

One workaround that sort of is hinted in the support pages is to install Google keyboard and that works, however when I turn on my bluetooth keyboard the tablet informs me that it doesnt work and I have to switch back to Samsung keyboard and the problem is back.

I can live without spell check or grammar control so if I could just turn it off it would be ok but this is a dealbreaker because for this to work as a word processor I have to be able to use a real keyboard.

Is it somehow a problem with the keyboard? The tablet is set for Swedish as a input language only.

Update 2016-03-10:

After some more testing I tried the app on my phone, a Note 4 and on this unit the bug was not present.

I therefore checked and found that Lollipop had been released for my tablet. After the update to Lollipop 5.1.1 the bug is gone. My conclusion is that this problem is related to incompatibilitties with KitKat 4.4.2

This is bad because I think that a lot of people like me avoid system updates since old hardware usually doesn't work well with newer versions of Android. Also, system updates are not always availible. I was lucky that I had a premium device that was capable to run Lollipop and that Samsung bothered to get an update for a rather unpopular device like Note 10.1 2014 edition.

    Hello Anders,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Since only Word is autocorrecting, this might be due to a glitch with the Word application installed on your tablet.

To resolve the issue try resetting the Word app on your Android tablet and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

    1. Ensure Word is closed.
    2. Go to Settings > Apps or Applications.
    3. Find the App you want to reset. In this case the Word App.
    4. Select the App.
    5. Scroll down to Reset Word.

Once reset check if you are able to resolve the issue with Word spellcheck.

Try the above step and let us know the result.

    Thank you.

I tried shutting of all autocorrect in the OS to no effect, it's just MS Word that does this. All other Word processors that I have tried doesn't do this kind of autocorrecting but only MS Word can format my documents the way I want them, otherwise I would have just used the full version of Polaris that was bundled with the tablet.

I don't use a Samsung phone myself, but I do use Android. I'm wondering if it is the Android spelling suggestions that you see. You should be able to turn off these suggestions, but that would affect all of the apps on your system, of course.

Yes, as I hinted on I have read and followed that tip.

The problem is I can't shut off the English autocorrection even though in the technical papers that compare Word on different platforms it says that Word on Android won't do grammar correction.

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Compare-Word-features-on-different-platforms-5e00dfba-3d7c-4222-b850-a0527ff7b066#bm7

Word stops autocorrecting grammar with the Google keyboard installed but I have to use the Samsung keyboard when I use an external keyboard for some reason. And so I'm stuck.

    Hello Anders,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

The spell-checker in Android Tablets is supported only for certain group of languages on Android Tablets. It does not work for Swedish language

You may refer to the information under the group Proofing is not supported for 'xyz' language given in the following Microsoft Answers thread:
