Cannot Insert Text Box, Cannot Copy and Paste Material into Publisher

I am having problems with one of the documents I created for a production facility I work for. In this document I cannot draw a text box. It is not a problem with my computer. I tested it on 2 of the other engineers computers and it would also not allow me to add a text box. Whenever I try to draw the text box, it just disappears. I have tried to even copy another text box and paste it.

When I try to even copy only 1 word and paste it, it tells me "the clipboard is busy" "publisher cannot currently cut, copy or paste your data because another program is using the Clipboard. Wait a moment and try again, or close other programs and try again.

If I try to copy a textbox that has already been entered it sends me this message "There is not enough memory to paste objects. To make more memory available, save your work and close other programs; then try again."

Problems:

  1. Cannot draw a text box
  2. Cannot Copy or Paste Text box
  3. Cannot Copy and paste a single word to create a text box
  4. However I can copy a table with 80 rows, 3 columns full of information and pictures and it allows me to paste that. But I dont have enough memory to copy and paste a text box with a single word in it.

Solutions I have tried:

  1. I tried it on 3 different computers. Same problem
  2. It is only this single file, all of my other files work fine,
  3. I have tried copying the file from my server onto my desktop, to no avail problem still exists.
  4. I have restarted, cleared my memory, had no other programs running, cleared my clipboard and yet I can still not insert a text box.

I would appreciate some assistance on fixing this document because it is a 300 page document that has taken multiple engineers, extensive hours to complete, and I am drawing close to my deadline to submit this project, that I have basically completed, yet I cannot add a text box to finish it.

    Thanks for the help,

I am running publisher 2013, I do have access to publisher 2010. I compressed all of the images in the file, like you suggested, but I still encounter the same problem.

As for the size, it is 301 pages. and 99,093KB of storage. I also did save it to my local hard drive but I still encountered the problem. I ran the design checker, it had a few flags but it was all intentionally setup that way and has not caused me problems before.

    You are running Pub 2013?

Do you have access to a machine with Pub 2010?

    How big is the file?

I would try compressing all the pictures which should free up some memory resources.

Reference: Picture tool Tab - Compress Pictures: https://support.office.com/en-US/Article/Picture-Tools-Tab-1d2e8f37-922c-4032-b1c0-56c13ca50533?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US#__toc256694329

You might want to run the Design Checker to see if that flags something else. File > Info.

In general it is always a better idea to open from and Save to your local hard drive. Opening from or saving to especially removable media can cause file corruption.
