How to scroll document content while scrolling the scroll bar?

All my office documents contents do not scroll when I drag the scrollbars. Only when I release the mouse then the contents jump to the position where the scrollbar stopped. All my office documents do show scrollbars. When I left click on them and drag down, the displayed contents do not move along at the same time, just showing an indication of the row numbers left of the vertical scrollbar (for Excel). Only when I let go of the mouse click, the contents jump to the indicated row number.

    Hello Chetan,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

To resolve this issue we need more information. Let us know the following:

Is this issue affecting one Office application or all applications?

This issue may happen due to interference from Add-ins in the application. In order to resolve the issue we will try opening Outlook 2013 in the Safe Mode and check if the issue resolves while working in the Outlook Safe Mode. Follow these steps.

You may try opening Word 2013 in the Safe Mode, and check if you are able to scroll normally.

In order to open Word 2013 in the Safe Mode please follow the steps as shown on the following Microsoft Resource article.

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/why-cant-i-start-my-office-2013-application-HA104011864.aspx

Note - The above article lists steps for all Microsoft Office 2013 applications, however, follow the steps to open Word 2013 in the Safe Mode.

Check if you were able to scroll normally in Word 2013 while in the Safe Mode. If yes, then follow the next set of steps mentioned in the article to resolve the issue.

Try the above steps and let us know if you need further assistance, or provide us with the exact error message.

    Thank you.
