Hey guys, I think the problem has been fixed in the latest update. :)

Microsoft Office 2016 Version 15.17 on OS X El Capitan, Version 10.11.12
I recently updated Office to the above version and when using Powerpoint, I can't seem to add or edit any text in the text boxes or shapes. I would usually need to wait for about 5-10s or randomly press keys before being able to type again. Once I move on to the next slide, the same problem repeats. This did not happen in the previous version and Powerpoint seemed to be working fine until the update.
I've tried uninstalling Office following the steps posted here, https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Uninstall-Office-2016-for-Mac-eefa1199-5b58-43af-8a3d-b73dc1a8cae3 and have emptied trash, restarted the computer and reinstalled Office but the problem still persists.
Is there any way to resolve this issue? Thanks for your help.

Hey guys, I think the problem has been fixed in the latest update. :)
I have this problem with Yosemite 10.10.5. PowerPoint 15.17 prevents me from editing text boxes unless I do something different, like wait a random bit of time after selecting a text box, adding a page later in the presentation. And when I can make an update, it's almost always only allowing 1 page to be edited.
If you have Time Machine running, you can roll your copy of Office back to before the update. Here's a short tutorial: Roll Back Office Update
Yes, I have El Capitan, but not sure how knowing that helps me. Do I need to uninstall something? How do I do that? Not being able to edit text boxes in Powerpoint makes it practically useless.
Thanks for your help
I'm guessing this is an El Capitan-related issue, as another user wrote today with similar problem, also on El Capitan. The update is working fine under Yosemite.
