Rectangular text selection on Mac OneNote 2016

I have an issue with selecting text on Mac OneNote 2016

I would like to be able to select a rectangular selection from within a text box.

In Word for Mac 2016 this function works by holding Option (Alt) and moving the mouse over the text I want.

It creates a rectangular selection and I can copy the content.

I would like to take it even farther and say , I would like to be able to select the rectangular text and replace the text with something that I have in my keyboard.

Users of TextWrangler or Notepad++ would be familiar with this function.

Let me know if I was unable to be clear.

Note: I am not talking about the rectangular selection within a page that can select multiple text areas, that works fine, but it is not what I am after.

I see what you're saying. I can repro this issue. May be its a bug or by design.
