Morph Transition not available

Hi there guys

I am an Office Insider and I have been using the Morph Transition for some time now (btw I LOVE it and I think it is a game changer for PPT).

However I have a problem, I assumed that the Morph transition would be available to the rest of the world by now and there is no way my client can see what I'm looking at unless I share my screen with him.

So the presentation is essentially useless to him now, which is a big problem for me.

These transitions helped us create a complex graph story which I was not able to do before morph.

Is there a way I can FFW my client's PPT subscription - it looks like he is on some weird Enterprise version of Office 365?

Is there another solution, or even better an ETA of when morph will be available to the rest of the 365 Community?

Thanks

:S

Yes, I understand that it currently requires Office 365 to work.  I would not consider the April 2016 MSI update (the link you sent) to "resolve" this problem, however.  IMO this issue should stay open until the MSI update delivers full feature support.

    Hi ChadConrow,

Yes, this feature is only available if you have an Office 365 subscription. If you are an Office 365 subscriber, make sure you have the latest version of Office.

More information is available at https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Using-the-Morph-transition-in-PowerPoint-8dd1c7b2-b935-44f5-a74c-741d8d9244ea?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US.

    Best,

    Hi Erik,

The April update allows Office 2016 MSI installations to display Morph transitions and even edit them, but it unfortunately does not allow for creating new presentations with Morph transitions.

I was hopeful the May update might rectify that as it seems the release notes for the April update were edited to "PowerPoint 2016 can now playback the Morph transition in slide shows." instead of "PowerPoint 2016 now supports Morph transition in slide shows."  Unfortunately, I've just installed the May update released today and it appears that the MSI version of Office is still in this "playback" mode for Morph.

This issue has been fixed, and now appears in the latest build of Office. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3114958 for more information.

As usual, if you haven’t received the update yet, open an Office app and click File > Account > Update>  Update Now.

    Many thanks for your patience!

    -Erik

If it's a subscription version of Office 365, they should be eligible for  regular updates (aka New Toys!) , but it may be up to their IT department to turn these loose to the enterprise user base.

Or in humanspeak:  There's probably nothing you can do about this.

See above.  And if they have one of the enterprise versions that's installed via one of the older-style MSI/EXE installers, they may not get the new features unless MS includes them in a service pack (and they choose to install it).  No way of knowing if that'll happen.

So there's the Subscription Software dilemma in a nutshell:  We may get all the Cool New Toys right away, but we may not be able to USE them 'cause our customers don't have them.

    Charibdys, meet Scylla.
