I am currently performing a "remote move migration" for mialboxes on prem exchange 2010. Question I have is I have several batches syncing but have not finalized the process. While they are sitting in a "synced" mode they appear to be updating new e-mails because the e-mail count increases. Question is how often does that occur and will there be 1 final one after I finalize the migration? Also, in the o365 exchange admin center the timezone appears to be off but I cant find a place to change it, can you direct me how to fix that.
Thanks

Hi Darren,
Thanks so much for the information. Do you mean the remote move migration in Exchange Hybrid deployment, or other migration method (staged migration or cutover migration)? Regarding “does the incremental synchronization occur 1 last time after the batch is finalized”, based on my experience, there is no Microsoft article talking about if there is one more incremental sync before removing batch. Meanwhile, to address your concern, we might need to know the migration method you using and the detailed information about the requirements regarding “my concern is I finalize the batch, new e-mails are in the on prem mailbox and when the mailbox is finalized it wont make the o365 mailbox.”
Best regards,
Ran
It is a remote move migration, does the incremental synchronization occur 1 last time after the batch is finalized to send over any e-mails since the last incremental? Or how does that timing work, my concern is I finalize the batch, new e-mails are in the on prem mailbox and when the mailbox is finalized it wont make the o365 mailbox.
Hi Darren,
Can you let us know which migration method you are using? From what you described regarding “While they are sitting in a "synced" mode they appear to be updating new e-mails because the e-mail count increases”, it should refer to the incremental synchronization during the migration which run every 24 hrs to copy the new emails from on-premises mailbox to Office 365 mailboxes. And if you feel ok for the batch where is no migration issues and all mailboxes are migrated to Office 365, you can finalize the migration by pointing the MX to Office 365 and then deleting the batch. After that, Office 365 licenses can be assigned to the migrated users.
