Help! Office 2013 Error code 771

Hi All!

I recently purchased a new laptop with win 8.1.

I also purchased a product key for Office 365 (University) 2013.

On the desktop is an icon for office but if I try to run it I get back error code: 771.  Correlation Number:  BAA1C1B7-F226-42DL-AAAC-SSD0852BA73A.

I submitted my proof of entitlement and received back a successful result.  If I click the link in the email I go to a page that says I have received academic status but if I click the continue button I just return to the same page.

I have tried:

*  Trying different web browsers.

*  Microsoft update - Latest updates installed

*  PC cure Pro to try to check the registry and repair any errors.

*  Reboot to complete updates.

Can someone please help me install Office 365 (University) before I pull what remains of my hair out?!?!?

Cheers!

    Hi Ahmed,

    I need more details to assist you with the issue:

    Did you pay extra for Office or is it a trial version which is installed on the computer?

    Try the steps below and check the result:

    Temporarily turn off the antivirus and firewall security and then try to install the Office subscription.

    Follow the steps below to turn off the firewall:

    • Logon to Windows 8 computer with administrative credentials.
    • Click on Start button and from the options available on the screen click on Control Panel.
    • On the opened window click on More Settings option from the bottom of the list in the left pane.
    • On the appeared window click on Windows Firewall.
    • On Help protects your computer with Windows Firewall Window click on Turn Windows Firewall on or off link that is available in the left pane.
    • On the opened window click on **Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended)**radio buttons under both Home or work (private) network location settings and Public network location settings sections to turn the firewall off.
    • To save the changes that you have made click on Ok button.

    Note: Enable the firewall once the troubleshooting is done.

    Check if Office 2013 is listed in the programs and features list.

    If so, then repair the Office suite and check the result: (Online Repair)
