Paste Functionality only allowing one sentence/line at a time in Word Forms

I developed a new Word Form (Word 2010) using the developer functionality, allowing for multiple lines for each text box.  However, when my managers are utilizing the form they are trying to cut and paste a large amount of text into the text box. It is only pasting over the first sentence/line.  So, they are having to copy each line and then paste it over which obviously won't work for performance evaluations they are doing.  If it helps I believe most of the complaints have come for those who are cutting and pasting from an old evaluation Word form done in Office 2003 and was later modified in Word 2010 (these forms were retired).

On my PC, I have no trouble pasting multiple lines or multiple paragraphs into a plain text content control set for "allow carriage returns". So it isn't a limitation or bug in Word 2013.

I would focus on two possibilities.

  • What kind of text in the old documents are they copying from? Is it paragraphs of regular text and/or bullet lists, the contents of protected form fields, text within tables, or other special circumstances? (Although I've tried all of those, and they just work...)
  • Is there an add-in -- common to all the PCs that have the problem -- that may be interfering? Try restarting Word while holding down the Ctrl key; when it asks whether to start in Safe Mode, answer Yes, and then try copying and pasting the same kind of text. Safe Mode prevents the loading of any add-ins, as well as the Normal.dotm template and any special settings in the registry. If the problem stops then, try disabling the add-ins one at a time to see whether you can isolate one that's causing the problem.

So the Word doc has text fields in the Form that is plain text content control, with the box selected for "Allow carriage returns (multiple paragraphs)".  The text they are coping and pasting is mostly bulleted text and multiple paragraphs.

Which kind of "text box" did you put in the form? Is it a rich text content control, a plain text content control, a protected form field, an ActiveX text box, or something else? Exactly what did you do to allow multiple lines? Finally, when text is being pasted into it, are all the copied lines part of the same paragraph, or are they multiple paragraphs?
