Error code: 0xE00001AE

My classmates and I were all working with a onenote document, (some online some using the desktop application) when towards the end of the lesson the ones online were told that theirs couldn't save and the ones using the desktop application "It looks like this section file is corrupted. OneNote might be able to fix it, but you should avoid working here in the meantime. (Error code: 0xE00001AE)"

Just recently I've tried to Sync my Notebooks and revived the same error message for the Notebook in question.

Can anyone tell me how i could uncorrupt this file.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Kimberley,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Do you get this error when others are simultaneously working on the same file?

To resolve the issue you may refer to the following Microsoft Article and follow the steps suggested:

Additionally you may refer to this Microsoft Communities thread and check if it helps:

Note: The above suggested information is for Office 365 and Office 2013, however you may follow the same steps for your issue with OneNote 2016.
