msExchHideFromAddressLists attribute no syncing to O365

Hi,

I have an issue where we have on prem AD but 365 mail accounts, as Is well known and documented there is no way of editing any of the mail attributes in the on prem ad as the schema does not include them and you cant do it via the O365 portal as you get an error saying the user is sync'ed from on prem AD.

Im trying to hide users from the GAL

I have extended the On - Prem Schema and Edited the correct attribute in ADSI Edit - I have updated the Sync rule - inbound - In from AD - user Common to include the msexchangehidefromaddresslists and confirmed that an outbound rule also exists.

however I can't seem to get this attribute to synchronise up to the users mailbox in the cloud.  There are no sync errors at all, If I edit any of the standard AD attirbutes it syncs fine.

Does anyone have any further troubleshooting steps I could take to narrow down the issue, is there a way to confirm what attributes are being synchronised up to 365?

Hi - I knew if I looked at it long enough I would find my own answer - I had done everything except update the connector properties to pull the additional user attributes from the On-Prem AD.

:) Happy days
