Just updated to Word for Mac 2011. Formerly the arrow keys moved objects in big increments and holding the option (alt) key down changed the movement to small increments. After the upgrade the vertical movement in small increments occurs with the option(alt) key, but the horizontal arrows cause the object to rotate.How do I move objects in small increments horizontally now?

It depends on whether the document is saved in the deprecated .doc file type. If it is, the Option+Arrow combination still works because the program defaults to [Compatibility Mode] as indicated in the title bar of the window.
If the program isn't in Compatibility Mode, use the Command key modifier instead of Option.
