Formatting changes when I insert copied cells in Excel 2010

I have two workbooks open with identical default formatting (font & text size).  When I copy cells from one workbook to the other, the formatting changes to Helv, size 10.  The inserted copied cells do not keep either their source font & size, or the font & size of the receiving workbook (which are both the same).  My default font and size in options also matches that of both open workbooks.  Why does the format change and how can I make it stop changing when I insert copied cells??

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Office Community.

Is this problem specefic to two excel files or copy and paste dont work properly with respect to format in other excel files?

Are the files you are working with stored locally or on a network?

You may try using the option Paste special -- Values and check the result.

I look forward to your reply to assist you further.

    Thank you.
