I want Excel to be the default App to open CSV files - Currently it is set to NotePad.  When I attempt to change it through settings it leaves NotePad still as the deault APP.  What am I doing wrong?

You can do this two methods.

Method 1.

  1. Right click on any CSV file, click Properties.
  2. In General tab, click Change button in front of the default application.
  3. Select Excel and click Ok.
  4. Click Apply and Ok.

Method 2.

  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. Open Default Programs
  3. Click Associate a file type or a protocol with a program
  4. Select CSV from the extensions list
  5. Click Change program... button
  6. Select Excel from the list of programs
