Adjusting Windows Firewall notifications

Yesterday I was asked to do some pre-release testing for a software product. Initially I tried it on Windows 10 but Windows kept shutting it down. So I decided to try an older system running Win8.1 The Win8.1 system gives me this message dialog from Windows Firewall:-

So I'm guessing that the Firewall in Win10 is making the decision for me and simply shutting this app down without ever asking me. So is there a setting I can change that'd give me a choice? i.e. a setting that would make it display the same dialog as the one in Win8.1?

P.S. Sorry for using a "General" tag. I tried a few for Firewall / Security / Antivirus etc but they all got rejected.

    Hi ,

As Reza-Ameri said, if you want to allow a specific application to pass through the Windows Defender firewall, you need to add the app in Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall.

If you want to see these notifications when Windows Defender Firewall blocks a app, head to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall > Change notification settings.

You may open start and search for firewall and click on Allow an app through Windows Firewall and you may add or remove programs from the list and adjust permission.
It might have set the permission once and therefore, it won't ask you again.
