If you have Office, Excel is much better at doing this.
You can use a SEQ field.

I need to type 000, 001, etc. all the way to 999.
My question is:
Can Word automatically do the consecutive numbering without me having to type each individual number from 000 to 999?
Is there maybe a Macro that I can use?
Help, please.

You can use a SEQ field.
And how do I use an SEQ field?
Just an FYI:
I've passed both an Excel 2007 AND Excel 2010 class so I have a decent idea of how to do many things in most of the Office programs but I don't recall SEQ fields.
Thanks for any help.
If you want to number paragraphs, you can set this up as a numbered list. Just pick the "001, 002, 003, ..." option. For a single-level list, click Home tab | Numbering | Define New Number Format.
The best approach, as always with Word, is to set up a numbered paragraph style. Post back if you need additional details.
please describe what it is you want to do. How do you want to use these numbers?
Click on the link that Charles provided. It is a page listing ALL of the way you can created sequential numbers in Word.
