Word 2013 automatically accepting tracked changes

I'm copyediting a document in Word 2013, and I've run into an issue I've never encountered. I use Track Changes when editing so that my client can see what I've revised and, if desired, reject certain edits. But with this document, the changes I've made inexplicably get accepted without my clicking "Accept All Changes."

At first, when I was about five pages into the document, I thought I had accidentally clicked on something; I figured I'd just go back and redo the edits. But since then, I've regularly saved my edits (and AutoSave is turned on), yet it's happened again. I just spent several hours making heavy edits to pages 25 through 35, yet only the edits to pages 31-35 are showing up as tracked. I have Track Changes turned on, with revisions set to show in balloons. I have All Markup selected in the pulldown menu. None of the earlier versions from today show the earlier tracked changes. Comments show up, but that's it.

What's going on? And how do I make it stop? This is costing me time, money, and very possibly my sanity.

Have you checked whether you have saved it as a Word Document instead of a Open Document text.

It worked for me when I changed it to a word document and your track changes should remain.

    hope this helps

Thanks for the offer. I figured out the problem; call it operator error. :-)

I don't know what is going on, but if you want to send me a copy of the document, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.
