@mmike Apologies for the delay in response and all the inconvenience caused because of the issue.
Considering your scenario I do assume that you are following our official Microsoft documentation to deploy Windows Virtual Desktop.
Since you mentioned that both the time the deployment is failing and you are getting the same error there can be any reasons for same:
- Credentials provided for joining VMs to the domain are incorrect.
- Domain name doesn't resolve.
- Your virtual network (VNET) DNS configuration is set to Default.
- Issue with current role in Subscription/resource group/resource
- Limitation regarding Geographical Location in which resource is deployed.
- Credits issue on Subscription
These are just few to mention and in order to understand the underlying issue I would need you to provide more details around the error message you are getting. Now either you can check the error details as mentioned in the link in query or you can follow this and get the error details as below:
In the portal, select the notification.
You see more details about the deployment. Select the option to find more information about the error.
In this example You see the error message and error codes. Notice there are two error codes. The first error code (DeploymentFailed) is a general error that doesn't provide the details you need to solve the error. The second error code (StorageAccountNotFound) provides the details you need.
Similarly you can get the error details for the above error which can help me to figure out what is going wrong in your environment.
Also as per mentioned by you in your query There are so many new and strange words in the dashboard, can you make it easier Q&A platform is more around technical queries as such for now and you can provide the feedback on our user forum here. Our Product Group actively looks into it and the feedback with highest number of upvotes is taken into consideration and worked upon.
Looking forward to your response so we can help you deploy AVD successfully in your environment :)
Hope it helps!!!
