Project 2016 Freezing up

Question

I have just purchased and installed Project 2016 on a windows 7 computer. When I use the add resource button (or alt+f10) the program will freeze up then restart loosing all unsaved work. But if I add a resource manually it will be fine just so long as I don't click the button to add resources. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and I have also spent way more time with the support hotline then I wanted to. Please any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated.

I have Office 2016 on Windows 7 and have Excel, Word and Outlook all freezing at random times (and they never recover).

It seems to happen if the programs lose focus. I have looked on line and tried all the suggested Microsoft fixes, none have worked.

Only solution so far to stop the freezing is either:

1. Use and close programs so they do not lose focus (short periods out of focus are OK).
2. Go back to Office 2013 - much more stable on Windows 7.
3. Upgrade to Windows 10 (This experience with Office 2016 makes me reluctant until more time for bugs to be fixed plus apart from this thread all the discussion of Office freezing has been with Windows 10.

Could Microsoft please fix or at least give refunds for unusable products that waste so much time.

It just occurs to me I have not had Access freeze - this may be because I usually have it minimised. I will try always having Excel, Outlook and Word minimised when not in focus and see if this stops the freezing. (This may be a clue for Microsoft to find the bug)

I also face the same issue, with project 2016 and win10.

for me the freezing occurs when I try to add a resource from AD or contacts. If I leave it alone for a few minutes it finally comes back from freezing, allowing me to add the resources. This is by no means a solution. I just don't loose my progress.

A fix please
