But there does not seem to be anything wrong with the file and Onenote just gives a blank dialog box, not even explaining the problem.

My professors give us Mp3's of lectures with handouts so we can study before class. Usually I can drop the Mp3 into my onenote and
play it while I take notes. I have an Mp3 that when I try to drop it in it gives my a blank dialog box with and "ok" button on it and refuses to drop the file into onenote. Other Mp3's can still be dropped in, but not this particular one. The file plays fine on iTunes, VLC, or quicktime. I've restarted my CPU, upgraded to El Capitan, and it still does not work.Any thoughts?

The above description shows that the issue is related to the specific file not with OneNote.
Here is a picture of the blank dialog box.
