Can't associate Excel with .aspx

Just rebuilt my hard drive and I need to repurchase Office, so am doing a 30 day trial of Office 365 on a Win 7 machine. I need to associate a .aspx file to Excel.  Under Default Programs > Set Associations, Excel is not listed when I click Change Program and I cannot find it using Browse.  How can I find and then add Excel as the default program for this .aspx file?  (Note, Excel does correctly appear as the default for other programs.)

Many of the answers say to do a repair or uninstall of the prior version of Office - but I have no prior version of office on this machine.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hello,

What is the version and edition of Office are you using?

Right click on the file and select Open With and select Excel and verify the result.

I tried the above steps but i do not have a root folder under the clientx64 or x86 directory.  I looked under in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15 and found Excel.exe but it will not apply the change.  When i look at default file types the aspx extension does not exist.  When i look under indexing the aspx file extension exists.  Not sure what the issue is.  Any insight would be helpful.

    Hi,

    Thank you for reply .

It seems you are using Office 2013.

In that case navigate to the following location.

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClentX86\Root\Office15 orC:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 15\ ClientX64\Root\Office15**.**

If you don't have option open with you can right click on the file then click Properties. Then click on Change and then navigate to the above location.

Hope the above information helps. Reply if you need more assistance and I'll be happy to help you.

    Thank you.

Thanks you for your suggestion, but it still doesn't work.  My first problem is that since loading Office 365, I no longer have the option to Open With, instead I have only two links for Open, so that did not work. So I continued on with step 4. My options under Program Files are either Microsoft Office or Microsoft Office 15. I checked under both and Excel is not listed. Under Microsoft Office 15 is a folder named ClientX64 and the only options listed were Integrated Office and OfficeClickToRun, both are applications, but I tried both and and neither works, so my options are to open either with Notepad or Wordpad - neither of which is acceptable for this file format. Am I having this problem due to being on a 30 day trial with 365?  If so, I need to discontinue my trial and look for other Office options.

Additional assistance will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
