Hi,

So I have a personal Microsoft account. And my workplace has an Office365 account with a license that only allows for the apps Online. Eg Outlook Online.

I want to have a local copy of Outlook on my PC for work.

My workplace will not upgrade the license.

What is the recommended method to getting a local copy of Outlook?

Thanks

    Hi Heidi.hendry.foxblue.net,

We are Microsoft forum support. If you have any questions when you use Office 365 for Business Online services, you can post on our forum. We are always here to assist you.

Back to troubleshoot this issue. After reviewing the whole thread, I learn that you want to use the Outlook desktop client such as Outlook 2013, 2016, etc. However, you don’t have Office 365 ProPlus licenses. If so, it’s not feasible to use it. As you said before, you can only use  Office 365 Online services.

To confirm if your Office 365 subscription includes an Office 365 ProPlus license, could you send me your Office 365 email address via private message, so I can help you to check it?

    Hi Alan,

Please can you tell me which of the many divisions and deparments of Microsoft that I should contact and how to contact you.

I am located in Vietnam, as this is our country office. Our head office IT Office365 was purchased out of the UK.

    Thanks

Hi Bourne, Thanks for the response.

A local copy of OUtlook: meaning a local software installation of Outlook onto the PC. Eg through an Exe or MSI installation.

The license seems to be an Online only via the IT Admin. And when asking them, they said that I am responsible for my own local installation copy.

a local copy of Outlook, if you mean the Outlook client or other third party mail client, actually you can add your Office 365 account in the mail client directly

But it may depend on your license settings, what is your license of Office 365 granted from your IT admin, Enterprise level or Education, Small Business?
