Horizontal Scrolling Issues

First of all, the vertical scrolling in the final release of Excel is terrible and "jumpy".  But the horizontal scrolling is downright broken.  When you first open a new sheet, the horizontal scrollbar is not even visible.  You can't grab it with your mouse and then move it, you first have to select a cell near the edge of the screen and then use the arrow buttons to try and move beyond the current view.  Then, the horizontal scrollbar appears.  Hasn't anybody else noticed this?  It only took me 2 minutes with the new release to see that this error made it from beta into the final consumer version.  What a joke.  Microsoft, please fix this as I can't handle not being able to scroll.

There is an option in Mac preferences to always show scrollbars, but it does NOT work to resolve this issue.  The only way to solve the issue is actually to choose the preference to show scrollbars "Automatically based on mouse or trackpad".  This forces the scrollbar to "reappear" when it's gone missing.  This is a ridiculous thing to have to do, though.  I don't like the setting at all for the rest of my applications, but I'm forced to use it just to get Office to function properly.  Microsoft needs to fix this ASAP.  How did a bug like this make it into a commercial release?

There is no option to "Show scroll bars" in the Preferences>General section or any other Preferences. This really needs to be fixed right away.

There most certainly is. Look in the system preferences, not Excel preferences, in the general tab.

What new release are you talking about? Try the windows menu-arrange and select windows of active document. Also make sure that the proper option is selected for Show scroll bars in the general system preferences.
