Just a criticism of the new version of MS Word 2016 - please bring back the easy and accessible display of the Insert Page Numbers icon from previous versions It was annoying not being able to find where this was - buried under headers and footers. So accessible on earlier versions. (for anyone looking for Insert Page Numbers, click the Insert tab, then go to headers and footers, and you will see page number icon to click onto.

Alternatively, you can insert a simple PAGE field anywhere in a document using Alt+Shift+P.

Since you are using Word for Mac, I'm moving your question to the Mac forum.

Yes. There is a separate Word for Mac forum at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macword.

Thanks for the response. I tried your suggestion - the result was the "pi" symbol in the lower left hand corner of the page. I have a Mac, if maybe that is the problem?
