cannot upload document template to content type

I create new document-based content type in SharePoint Online and try to upload a dotx word template to it, but I receive Sorry you don't have access to this page. I clicked "Request access" button, but nothing has changed, I still cannot upload that template. I am global administrator of this Office 365 account.

How should I fix this ? I need to have this content type to easily attach it to newly created document libraries.

thank you

    Hi Marius,

How did you create your SharePoint site? Did you do it from the Admin Center > SharePoint > Site Collections? Or, did you create it from SharePoint tile > Create Site?

I did not have problems uploading a DOCX as the template for a Content Type to a site collection created using the first method even when my scripting options were OFF in SharePoint Admin Center settings. But I see the problem when I create a site using the second method. Turning on the scripting options did not fix it.

I'm trying to figure out why Ran Gao's advice worked for you, and not for me. Can you clarify how your site was created?

At my company, we are trying to use the newer method of creating sites because we'd like our team sites to also have team mailboxes, calendars, planner, etc., automatically created as part of Office 365 Groups that are linked to the site.

    Thanks.

I'm running into the same issue as well. I will try this solution, and see if it works.

We're just starting to create Team Sites, and we'd like them all to have specific documents available under the "New" button in document libraries.

    Hi Marius,

Regarding this issue, it should be related to the scripting capabilities. Please follow the steps below to check whether you have turned on.

    1. Sign in to Office 365 with your work or school account.
    2. Go to the SharePoint admin center.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Under Custom Script choose:

Allow users to run custom script on personal sites.

Allow users to run custom script on self-service created sites.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for the change to take effect.

For more information about the scripting capabilities, you can refer to the article below:

    Thanks,
