Hi,

I have created a custom document library and added few custom metadata (5 additional custom metadata) to it. The document library works good via web browser however when I use Sync tool, I can sync the document library using 'Sync' icon but all files and folders appears to be in read only mode and comes up with green lock.

When I copy file after sync, the error message I receive is:

The advanced settings for document library are:

I don't get the issue when I use default document library. I have checked the permissions as well but it is not a permission issue as I have full access to the site and document library.

Can you please assist?

Regards,

Mitesh

    Hi Mitesh,

Yes, if your metadata column keeps having “require that this column contains information” setting, you even have no permission to put a new created document to your local sync folder. The only way to solve this problem is change the setting from yes to no.

    Thanks,

    Rena

    Hi Rena,

    Thanks for letting me know.

I also can't add any new files or folder in the document library contains custom metadata via Synced location. Is this also a known issue? I am new to SharePoint sync and not sure whether it used to work or not.

My Current SharePoint sync tool version is 2016 (Build 17.3.6798.0207).

Could you please provide more info?

    Regards,

    Mitesh
