    Hi Dolly Lesego Seheri,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forums.

you can try the following methods to retrieve your file on the computer:

Find Your File: Look for your Excel file in the Recycle Bin. If you find it, right-click the file and select "Restore".

    Open File History:

Press Win + S to open the search bar, type "File History," and select "Restore your files with File History."

    Find Your File:

Browse through the File History to find your Excel file. If you locate it, select the file and click "Restore."

    View Recovery Files:

Launch the Excel program. If Excel detects any unsaved workbooks, it will usually display a "Document Recovery" pane on the left.

Look through the "Document Recovery" pane for your workbook and open it if found.

    Open the Temporary Files Folder:

Press Win + R to open the "Run" dialog box, type %temp%, and press Enter.

    Find Temporary Files:

Browse the temporary files folder for files starting with ~ or ~$, as these might be temporary Excel files.

Try opening these files to see if they contain your lost work.

    Best regards

    Neuvi Jiang
