Open CSV automatically in Excel

hey guys!

Before this last update on Mac - MacOS Sierra - the files in CSV used to open automatically all set to work in my computer.  Now every time it needs to go through the Text to Columns Wizard process.  Is there a way I can set it to open automatically without having to go through this process every time?  I used to be able to do it but now I can't seem to find a work around.

Cheers!

    Hi Marina,

About the issue, please update Office 2016 for Mac to the latest version. More information can be found in the article: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Update-history-for-Office-2016-for-Mac-700cab62-0d67-4f23-947b-3686cb1a8eb7?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

In addition, we can convert the CSV file format into .txt file. Then, create a new Excel file and click Data > From Text > select the .txt file we saved > Get data > Next > Next> Finish. After getting the data in the new excel, save it as a CSV format file. Open it to check if it can open automatically without the Text to Columns Wizard process.

If the issue persist, to narrow down the issue and find the root cause, could you provide the following details:

    1. The current version of Excel. To check it, please click Excel > About Excel.
    2. Mac OS Sierra version.
    3. A screenshot about the Text to Columns Wizard process.

    Regards,

    Shirley
