Checkbox Error Changing

I'm trying to check my checkbox in excel and it says:

The cell or chart that you are trying to change is protected and therefore read-only.

What should I do? My sheet is not protected so I can change any content of every cells. Only the checkbox that is not changed (checked).

Hello,

that's strange. A protection message should only come up if the sheet is protected. Are there any other sheets involved? Hidden sheets might contribute to the solution and might be protected.

Make sure to unhide all sheets, then make sure that all sheets are unprotected.

If the issue still persists, please post a copy of the file (replace any confidential data like names, phone numbers, email addresses with dummy text) to you OneDrive public folder, share it and post a link here.

Thank you so much ma'am. My checkbox is connected to the second sheet that is protected. Thank you for your help.

    God bless you!
