Problem installing Microsoft Visio Professional 2010 on 32 bit system

I upgraded my operating system from Windows Vista to Windows 8.1. I had to do the custom install so that it would be a clean install and I have been able to re-install my 2010 MS Office Professional Plus and my MS Project Professional 2010.

I am having problems trying to re-install my Microsoft Visio Professional 2010. At setup, I keep getting the message that "Set up cannot find office.en-us/officeMUI.msi. It asks me to "Browse to a valid installation source, and then click OK."

I have tried every file on the list with no success. The program also at one time claimed that "The file visio.en-us/visioMUI.msi could not be found and that setup failed and rolling back changes..."

Can someone please help me out with re-installing my program. All my Microsoft programs run in the 32 bit version on Windows 8.1 and  I am trying to re-install Microsoft Visio Professional 2010.

Thanks,

Luticia15

    Hello L E M:

I am trying to re-install my Microsoft Visio Professional 2010 version from the CD. I tried going to the Earlier Versions of Office page and it tells me that there has been an error and that I should refer to the Microsoft Support Contact US page.

I am not trying to install Microsoft Office 2010 because I was able to install that program as well as Microsoft Project Professional 2010.

My problem is with Microsoft Visio Professional 2010. I have the CD and my key but when I try to install it, I get a message that "set up cannot find office.en-us/officeMUI.msi." Then it says, "browse to a valid installation source, and then click OK."

I have clicked on everything down the list with no success and I also had the message "the file visio.en-us/visioMUI.msi

could not be found" and that set up failed. Rolling back changes."

I don't understand why Windows 8.1 allowed me to re-install my Microsoft Office 2010 Plus and Microsoft Project Professional 2010 and not the Microsoft Visio Professional 2010.

I am running on the 32 bit versions of these programs. Can you or someone else explain what may be causing the problem and what  steps I need to follow to resolve the problem?

    Thank you,

    Luticia15

    Hi Luticia15,

How are you trying to reinstall the software? Using a CD?

If you are trying with a CD, could you instead try installing the software by entering your product key on the Download Earlier Versions of Office-page

    Regards,

    L E M
