Office send 'Multiple codes' for authentication.

Our company utilizes Office 365 and currently, we have a number of users that are very frustrated with Office 365 always sending out authentication codes anytime they wish to open a document or launch one of the apps.  Sometimes, Multiple codes are sent at once, flooding the user with text messages or phone calls and the windows don't indicate what code it is asking for.  You put in an incorrect code and you get....... another code. (Maybe Microsoft could put in some sort of Identifier to state which pop up corresponds with what code that was sent.)

Some of the things we have tried and sometimes it will alleviate the issue only to return a few days later.

A: Verified that cookies are not being deleted upon closure.

B: Completely logged out of all Microsoft apps, went to portal.office.com, re-associated all apps and clicked on 'do not ask again for 30 days'.

C: Ran Office Fix or uninstalled and reinstalled apps. Verified latest version.

I've tried some of the registry edits and even gave one user a brand new imaged build and within hours, would be prompted for a code when launching a Word doc even though everything had been verified previously.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Todd,

For “'Multiple codes' for authentication”, could you confirm whether your organization enabled MFA for users. Besides the password for the account, we also need a text code to verify the account to sign into Office or use some Office 365 services like Office client. For more detailed information, please refer to the following articles:

    Multi-Factor Authentication for Office 365

Sign in to Office 365 with a second verification method

If it not the scenario as above, for further investigation, could you provide us with some related screenshots about “'Multiple codes' for authentication” for our reference?

    Regards,

    Allan
