Run-time error '5895' when using template macro

When I use a custom template that is supposed to update specific fields in a document, I am getting an error stating:

Run-time error '5895'

Requested view is not available.

The macro will update one of the fields in the document (on a title page) but will not update the footers as it should.

Any ideas?

In that case, you will almost certainly need to take up the issue with the person who created the code.

Apologies! I thought I had navigated specifically to a Word for Mac forum. I am using Word on a Mac.

I am unable to view the code, the project is locked. What the macro does is update certain fields within the document - a version # on a cover page and in all the footers.

However, it only updates the cover page and then throws the error and does not update footers.

The document uses section breaks as well as alternating headers & footers - not sure if this is a variable feeding into the problem but I did see mention of these factors in other macro-related issues involving footers.

You may be more likely to receive assistance if you post the code of the macro.

Also mention whether you are using Word on a Mac or on a Windows computer.
