Word for Mac systematically crashes when inserting charts

Hi,

Ever since the latest Mac OS update (10.12.4), Word has taken to crashing whenever a chart is inserted. The data is opened in Excel and the chart appears briefly in the Word doc; then, Word immediately crashes. Is anyone else seeing this and/or do you have any workaround suggestions?

I tried updating to the latest "fast" Insider release of Word, but the problem exists in that version too.

Thanks,

Ben

Thanks for the replies. Yes, OS is prerelease of 10.12.4. Seems to be an Apple/Intel graphics driver that is crashing. Will investigate and post any solutions.

Are you sure about the System number? 12.3 was just introduced about a week ago?

Regardless of system version, check for permissions' issues.

On MacOS OSX.10 and above to Check permissions.

    1. Quit all open Applications.
    2. Hold down the Shift key and restart the computer.
    3. Hold the shift key down until the Progress Bar appears, then release the shift key.

Let finish loading may take a few minutes and on certain computers, the screen may black out for a few seconds. 4. Sign in when it asks. 5. Let finish loading. After finished, Restart normally. 6. Now open Word and try. If Word still has issues, try using FontBook to check for duplicate or bad fonts. Check out this website. Go to Page named Fontbook Lion and above. Follow those directions. If this doesn't help ... 7. Check and make sure you have the latest version of Word 15.30

(as of January 31, 2017, 10:51 AM). IF not Update. 8. Try removing the normal.dotm File then opening  Word.

If none of this helps I don't know what else to suggest.

    Hi Ben,

To investigate the issue, I’d like to confirm the following information.

    1. The detailed steps for us to reproduce the issue.
    2. Does the issue occur on other Office programs?
    3. A screenshot of your Word application version and a screenshot of the mac OS version.

    Thanks,

    Ran
