Access data base size - importing excel spreadsheet

I am trying to import an excel spreadsheet with 350 columns and 575 rows.   It won't import the full file - telling me the size is restricted in Access.

I have a hard time believing that  - as its not that big an Excel spreadsheet.

Can anyone help me to figure out how to import the whole file?

thanks

Hmm, try Compact & Repair... might be the file is growing too large and stops at 35 rows.  Another thought...  Why?  What are you trying to accomplish by bringing it into a database?  If we knew we might have another suggestion.

It depends on the data. Is there anything else in the Access database? An Access database is limited to 2 Gig of file size.

What is the EXACT error message?

As Gina said, Access is not a spreadsheet. You need to normalize your data to bring it into Access.

Thanks Gina - what about the rows - it is cutting off the top 35 rows.   Why would that be - any ideas?

That's because a Table has a maximum field limit of 255.  You would need to split that worksheet.
