Sounds like you did the right thing (uninstall the trial), but just in case, take a look in "Programs and Features" to see if another trial "snuck in".

Sounds like you are getting a different message, but just in case, maybe one of these fixes will help:

If you're still using Office 2013 with your Office 365 subscription, you'll eventually receive notifications to upgrade to Office 2016. If you don't want to have to dismiss the notification each time you launch an Office 2013 application, follow the steps below to permanently disable this notification.

Important: The steps below won't turn off notifications that tell you to update Office with the latest security features and product updates. It's critical for these updates to be applied to Office.

There is a link to download a “fix it” tool for this problem.

But over the past few weeks, the Office team has been targeting a new group of users with new pop-up ads: Office 365 subscribers who aren't using the Office 2016 locally-installable apps.

This ad is problematic for a few reasons, …

Some of us have found this pop-up difficult to dismiss. Clicking on any of those options often results in no action.

… I subscribed to the Office 365 Business Essentials plan, which does not entitle me to the locally installable Office 2016 apps, …

if I did manage to get "Upgrade" to work on this pop-up, my upgrade would not be free.

If you're an Office 365 for business administrator and want to know how to prevent Office 365 ProPlus from being automatically updated to Office 2016, see How do I keep on running Office 365 ProPlus 2013?

Get rid of "Get Office," "Get Skype" and "Get Started."

Click "Start"

Click "All Apps"

Find the application (Get Office) in the list (scroll down or search)

Right click on the app name

Click uninstall

Follow the prompts to uninstall.

Alt approach to kill “Get Office” etc applets

http://superuser.com/questions/956377/how-can-i-stop-the-get-office-365-notifications-in-windows-10

  • In start menu type “Programs and Features”, press <enter>
  • In the list of programs, if you find it, uninstall “Get Office 365” application
  • If you find it, uninstall “Get Skype” application

***********

The uninstall should have removed the following settings, but it doesn’t hurt to check for them also:

  • In start menu search for (type) “Notifications & Actions”, press <enter>
  • In the “Show Notfications from these apps look for “Get Office” and “get Skype”
  • Turn them both off (if you can still find them)
