Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP) Program

We have a contract directly with Microsoft for Office 365.  Our IT company sent me an e-mail saying that Microsoft is transitioning administration of all Office 365 accounts as part of the new Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP) Program.  Our IT company wants me to give them the okay to transfer/cancel the Microsoft subscription and transfer it to them.  Does anyone know if that is mandatory per Microsoft?  We are happy with our current subscription and service.  I see no need to transfer it to the local IT company.  Any thoughts?

I work for a CSP and we are moving customers from our Syndication Program to CSP.

Is your current partner you work with a Syndication Partner? Microsoft is getting rid of that program and all customers need to move to CSP

So, find out if they are a syndication partner. I think we have until Oct to get all customers moved over.

Thanks for your input.  I submitted a billing support ticket to Microsoft.

I personally worked for a CSP until very recently, and while Microsoft are trying to establish this new licensing model I am unaware of any requirement to convert your existing subscriptions to a CSP model- however there might be benefits in moving to this licensing model, depending on your CSP.

Is this IT company your current Microsoft partner? Are they delegated admins on your tenant, or POR over your current subscription?

Since I worked in a completely different region and resigned my position two months ago, things might be different for you.

If you want to be sure if there is a demand for this- I would suggest creating a billing support ticket.
