Randomly user's secondry proxy address is getting removed the primary address is present so far it happened for 2-3 users mailboxes.

I have recently migrated those users from another AD Forest and put their old email address as secondry. Both Forest are under same O365 tenant and trusts are in place. O365 synced to Active Directory with WAAD Sync.

How do we find out what caused this change is there a way to get the alerts for a sync change etc.,

The issue was fixed by adding the proxy address again. But I am looking to find a way how it has happened so I can perform permanent fix

    Hi Jacob,

Thanks for the updates. I have modified the screenshots you provided in order to protect your privacy information.

According to your screenshots, I can see that you have added the missing proxy address again, and now it shows correctly. Does this mean the issue no longer exists now? Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

If it is true that the issue no longer exists, please monitor it and free free to keep us posted.

And one more thing, you mentioned "I noticed it in the AD and O365 Admin console". If the address is already missing in the on-premises AD, we should consider it an on-premises AD issue instead of an Office 365 issue, and I suggest you visit our Windows Server Directory Services forum for technical support regarding the on-premises AD.

    Regards,

    Allen

     2. we have migrated about 35 users and i do not want to face the issue again. i have checked all the migrated users proxy settings before this happened to double check and they were fine so not sure why the proxy address removed again

let me know if you require further info

    Hi Jacob,

In order to better understand the situation, I would like to know the following details:

    1. Where did you notice that the affected user’s secondary address is missing? Can you please provide a screenshot by clicking Use rich formatting (under the reply box) -> Insert/Edit Media?
    2. I see that there are 2 or 3 affected users, and they have been migrated across different AD forests. I suppose there are other migrated users too, and other migrated users do not have issues regarding their email addresses, right?
    3. Are the affected user’s email addresses correct in the on-premises AD forest?

Also, please use PowerShell module commands to get the detailed information and see the user’s email addresses. For instance, if the proxy address is missing on Office 365, please run Get-MsolUser -UserPrincipalName *** Email address is removed for privacy *** | select *proxy* to check it. (You can also provide the relevant screenshot to show us.)

    Looking forward to your updates.

    Thanks,

    Allen
